Bobbie Ann Mason on Campus Thursday

This spring’s “One Campus-One Community-One Book” project will be sponsoring an appearance by Bobbie Ann Mason at Java City on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. She will appear twice more after that so check out the events page.

Also, don’t forget Barbara Ehrenreich, author of Nickel and Dimed. She will appear at Van Meter Auditorium on Thursday evening, 7:30. It’s free.

English Club Meets Monday

The English Club meets Monday, March 6 at 4:15 in “The English Activity Room” in Cherry Hall 124. Could we get somebody to sponsor that room and put in some funky, comfortable furniture? Comments welcome.

Get Poetry Slammed!

Tonight at Tidballs–poetry slam. Here’s the link to the Herald article which, inexplicably, requires registration. If you don’t know what a “slam” is check out Wikipedia’s entry. The show starts at 9:00 p.m. with a two buck cover. Be there or be…nowhere.

Rutgers-Newark sends ‘ambassadors’ to teens
So Rutgers has started a pilot program that sends its students into Newark schools to pitch the campus. The students, called Rutgers student ambassadors, hold assemblies, visit college fairs and make classroom visits.
