NoteMesh - collaborate to graduate

“NoteMesh is a free service that allows college students in the same classes to share notes with each other. It works by creating a wiki for individual classes that users can edit. Users are free to post their own lecture notes or contribute to existing lecture notes. The idea is that users in the same class can collaboratively create a definitive source for lecture notes.”

For those of you who like poetry slams and their like, this website is an interesting variant. Writers are given fifteen minutes to respond to a “prompt” (some of which are quite evocative, even provocative). As the author writes every key stroke is recorded in real time for playback by you. Demystifying Law School Applications

Dr. Karen Schneider recently forwarded this information from Dr. Martin Carcieri in Political Science. Because English majors are often at least curious about law school, I am sharing the details here. I reworded Dr. Carcieri’s email message into the third person, but the text is his own.

Martin Carcieri (Political Science) will give a presentation entitled “The Law School Application Process” to the WKU Pre-Law Club next Wednesday the 20th at 7 PM in DUC 349. Besides being a lawyer in a previous life, he was both an LSAT instructor and a Law School Admissions Consultant for the Kaplan Educational Center for many years. His presentation will address such topics as preparation for the LSAT, letters of recommendation, the personal statement, and law school selection.
