The 1st annual Jean Ritchie Fellowship in Appalachian Writing, which
awards $1,500 to a deserving writer from the region.
The Mountain Heritage writing contests in fiction, poetry, essay, and
young adult, judged by Chris Holbrook, Karen McElmurray, Anne Shelby,
and Lyrae Van-Clief Stefanon.
The Earl Hamner Scholarships, available for two deserving writers to
attend the festival for free.
