Do You Have Cabin Fever?

If so, you’re not alone. A handful of talented local writers will be reading at the Cabin Fever Local Author Series throughout February, every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Warren County Public Library. The first writer is Mary Lucas, reading from A Shelter in a Time of Storm tomorrow night. Tickets are not required! For details, visit the library’s website or call 270.781.4882.

In Cherry Hall news, the first ever internship meeting took place last Tuesday! The program has been in existence for several years but no in-person contact has ever been established, making this quite a historical moment. We discussed our different internships– from being a teacher’s assistant to a publishing intern– over locally made snacks and sweets (graciously provided by Dr. Jones). All in all, we had a great time getting to know each other.

Lastly, the first ever “Rachel’s Challenge” is underway! By unanimous vote the term “doodle sack” has been chosen for my writing challenge (thanks, guys). The short story or poem will be posted on Friday, then a new poll will begin. Be looking for those posts on our Facebook page. If you have a particularly strange or interesting word you’d like me to write about, write it in a comment below.

Stay warm everyone!

-Rachel

Thanks for sharing the news of the historic internship meeting! I was happy to provide snacks for such a worthy cause!
